Visioning

In May 2013, after affirmation and election by the Church Board, a Visioning Committee was formed at Germantown United Methodist Church. The committee is charged with the task of discerning God’s call for GUMC through prayerful discussion with the congregation and members of the community, and ultimately developing and implementing a plan to fulfill that call.

We live in a changing world, and for any organization to remain relevant and viable it must continually assess where it is going, how it is getting there, and how well it is doing. As a church, we must strive to do the same. If we want to reach people with the good news of Jesus Christ and engage them, we need to look at how we effectively communicate that message today and where God is calling us to be.

2013 Survey Results

The Visioning Team is deeply thankful for the many visioning questionnaire responses received. We have determined that the ministry priorities from our congregational questionnaire as:

  • Spiritual Discipline

As the committee and the church work to boost interest, involvement, and priority for these ministry areas, we welcome the input and contributions of all members. You can email Susan Smith, committee chairperson, with your feedback:
