Volunteering at GUMC

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

Do you want to volunteer at GUMC? Great! Donated time and talents are invaluable to our operation as a church, and it gives you a unique chance for fellowship with other volunteer-minded members. Whether you’re a retiree, a student, or even a busy adult, we welcome whatever time you can give us. And if you’re not sure yet where you’d like to contribute, we can help you with that, too.

Please check back as we expand this page to include more options to find and explore volunteer opportunities at GUMC.

Introducing the One for All Initiative

In Matthew’s gospel (Chapter 14), the Disciples come to Jesus with what they see as a problem. The needs they see seem too large for them to meet. Jesus’ response is simple. Do all that you can and that will be enough. Germantown United Methodist is going to take that lesson to heart in 2016.

One For All is a way for every GUMC member or visitor to help us meet and exceed the needs of our congregation and community in Christ. Our goal is for everyone to increase their involvement with the Church in at least one way.
Beginning January 10, you will see bulletin boards outside the sanctuary during Sunday worship hours and in the Welcome Center during the rest of the week. Each board will contain post-it notes telling of ways you can serve GUMC. Whether it is by donating an hour of your time cutting out handouts needed for children’s ministry, sponsoring snacks for one of our many events or participating in one of our many small groups, there is a way for you to help and get more involved!
For those who prefer to make a financial donation beyond your 2016 commitment, you can chose to direct your donation to a specific need identified on the board.

The opportunities listed on the board are just the tip of the iceberg! An expansive list of even more opportunities will be coming soon. Remember, our church is only as great as we, serving in Christ’s name and by his grace, make it.
