New to GUMC
Inquirer’s Class, Sunday, June 1
If you are new to Methodism and want to know more about what we as Methodists believe, or just want to know more about GUMC, please join us for our next Inquirer’s Class, on Sunday, June 1, from 9:40 a.m.-noon in the conference room on the third floor (room 329). During the first hour, class participants will explore the history and structure of the United Methodist Church. From 10:40-11 a.m. we’ll take a break and head to the parlor for “Coffee in the Parlor” with clergy, program staff and church leaders. During the second hour, class members are invited to take a tour of the building and return to the classroom to discuss United Methodist beliefs, particularly Methodist understandings of the sacraments. We will also explore various ministry opportunities and program areas in the life of the church. All are welcome. No reservations are necessary. Please contact Rev. Julie McKenna at 758-6514 for more information. We would love to have you worship with us this Sunday. Our worship times are 8:30, 9:40, and 11:00 a.m. We also have Sunday Schools and child care at all three services.
Our Sunday morning services are traditional in nature. We worship God by responsive readings, singing hymns, and listening to a biblically-based and relevant sermon. Our music is classical, featuring an organ and a choir, and sometimes other orchestral instruments.
We're located at 2331 S. Germantown Rd. “in the heart” of historic Germantown, Tennessee.
When you arrived, look for greeters near any entrance, or go to the Welcome Center located in the center of our campus. Brochures and other information about our various ministries are located there. Between services, refreshments are available in the Mike Wilson Fellowship Hall.
