Sunday School (K-5th)

Sunday School for children (Grace Place) is for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade. Classes are available at 9:40 and 11:00 a.m. Parents sign children in at the chapel for a gathering time for all grade levels. Children are greeted by their mentors who provide consistency from week to week, as well as engaging the children in activities that reinforce the Bible lesson

Children move with their mentors in grade-level groups to our learning stations where presenters provide a variety of learning opportunities based on a particular theme. Children visit a different learning station each week with their grade-level group. Parents pick children up in station classrooms. Check our bulletin board or grade-level signs posted outside each room to see where each group is located for that week.

On August 15 we began our 6-week rotation theme, “Acceptance: Peter and Cornelius.” As children rotate weekly through fun stations—Crafts, Games, Science, Snack, Story, and Video—they will learn that God’s love is for all people. Just as Peter accepted Cornelius and other Gentiles into the community of faith, we can accept others despite their differences. When we learn to love and accept our own unique gifts, we can learn to accept others. We can also be sensitive to our own behaviors that may show prejudice.
