Meet the Counselors
Christina Burns, LPC/MHSP has been a counselor in the Memphis area since 1998, working in adult psychiatric, adult addiction treatment, gero-psychiatric and adolescent psychiatric treatment. She has been in private practice since 2001 and joined the Counseling Center at GUMC in 2005. She specializes in work with women, adolescents and families. Dewaine Rice, EdD, LPC/MHSP, is Director of The Counseling Center and Program Coordinator at The University of Memphis’ Counseling Educational Psychology and Research department. Dr. Rice established the Counseling Center at Germantown UMC and offers personal counseling, mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling and clinical hypnotherapy for pain management, anxiety, and panic attacks. In 2010, Bill Walker, D.Min., LPC/MHSP, joined the staff at McVay Counseling center bringing experience with psychoanalytic therapy and working with members of the clergy.
