Junior and Senior High
Programs and classes for students in grades 7-12
Junior and Senior High
The mission of Student Ministries is to encourage our students to enjoy a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. We are committed to ministering to our junior high students by providing them with experiences, teaching, and relationships that encourage a life of love, obedience, and service to our Savior.
Sunday School
All students in grades 7-12 are invited to attend Sunday School at 9:40 or 11:00 a.m. Sunday School is a great place for everyone to learn and grow—those just starting their journey on the mountain, as well as those already on the climb. The Bible study topics are age appropriate and encourage students to grow in discipleship and become a devoted follower of Christ. Classes meet at the Owings Life Enrichment Center (OLEC). All students gather in the Oasis Youth Lounge for fellowship and announcements at the beginning of Sunday School.
Small Groups
Are you looking for a group to dig into the Word with? To share your struggles? To laugh with? Then small groups are the place for you! Small groups offer a place to tackle the questions of life and focus on the important disciplines to live a Christian life. It’s a place to honestly share your opinions, beliefs, and concerns. You will fellowship, study, laugh, and pray with close friends while encouraging each other and exploring what it means to follow Christ. Anyone can come to a small group at ANYTIME—there’s no need to sign up or call first.
• “Synergy” for 7-8 Grades • Wednesday evenings
• “Synago” for 9-12 Grades • Wednesday evenings
Element
Element, our version of United Methodist Youth Fellowship meets on Sunday nights from 6-8 p.m. It’s a great time to hang out, have fun and grow in your faith! The evening kicks off with a snack supper at 6 p.m. at the OLEC. The snack supper is available for $3. Afterwards, we have special announcements, skits, games and hilarious videos. Following start-up, we’ll continue with a time of worship, prayer and reflection. The evening concludes with age-level discussion groups as we dive into a scripture-based theme.
Oasis
Our Oasis Youth Lounge is located on the main floor of the OLEC. It provides a safe, high-energy and welcoming environment for students to hang out. It’s a place where students and friends can watch movies, laugh, make noise and play: video games, ping-pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, and enjoy an awesome space. All are welcome. Oasis is open Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. and Sundays from 5-6 p.m.
