Mission Mondays at Manna House
Manna House is located at 1268 Jefferson in the Madison Heights neighborhood of Midtown Memphis, and is a place of hospitality for homeless persons and others in need. It’s a living room for people from the streets, and a place where people can come inside for conversation or rest. Manna House also provides bathroom and shower usage, clean clothes, and free local calls. Our crew will be serving coffee, passing out toiletries and clothing items, and buildingrelationships with the people we meet. We’ll meet at the OLEC at 7 a.m. SHARP and return around 1 p.m. (please bring $10 for lunch). Check the calendar for dates. Advance sign-up is required. See “Open Event Registrations” below. Mission Sundays at Breakfast For The Homeless
(first Sunday of every month)
You have to get up early for this one, but it’s worth it! The first Sunday of every month, youth and adults prepare, cook, and serve breakfast to the homeless families of the Hurt Village area of Memphis. Youth and adult volunteers meet at 6:30 a.m. SHARP in the OLEC parking lot, and return to the OLEC at 10:30 a.m. (please bring a few bucks for a quick breakfast on the way back).
