“For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”
(Romans 12:4-5)
At Germantown United Methodist Church we strive to be the church that Jesus intended—a community of believers who meet together to learn from and follow Christ and spread the message of God’s love. We teach and share. We sing and laugh. We roll up our sleeves, get involved and try to change the world! GUMC is a large church, but not too large. It is a church of open doors, open hearts and open minds. Our congregation covers many generations and includes people at every stage of faith. We welcome those seeking God’s truths, regardless of questions or life experiences. No matter where you are on your journey, God loves you and we welcome you.
Church membership is not a requirement for worshipping or serving at Germantown United Methodist Church, and it is not a command found in the Bible. The Bible does tell believers, however, to meet regularly with a group of Christians who love, serve, and encourage one another (See Ephesians 4:16, I Timothy 3:15, and Romans 12:4-5.)
