Kenya Missions
We will be sending our 6th team to Kenya this summer to serve the people in the Maua community. John Phillips will be the 2012 team leader.
We will leave Memphis on July 26, 2012 and return on August 11, 2012. The estimated cost per person will be roughly $3,800. We will provided you with materials to help you raise funds for this trip.
If you would like to be a part of the 2012 team, reserve your slot by completing the attached application form and submitting a $100 deposit payable to Germantown UMC – Kenya 2012. There are 16 slots available for the 2012 trip. These will be filled in the order of deposits received.
Kenya 2012. Team members are needed for GUMC’s sixth mission trip to Maua, Kenya, scheduled for July 26-August 11, 2012. The primary focus for our Kenya missions is our work with Aids orphans through the Hope Companions project. We will also work on various projects in support of Maua Methodist Hospital. Tentative Schedule:
- Leave Memphis on Thursday, 7/26
- Arrive Nairobi Friday, 7/27
- Arrive Maua Saturday, 7/28
- Hospital Projects 7/29 through 8/3 (VBS on Friday afternoon)
- Arrive Meru farm Saturday, 8/4
- Farm projects and work with youth 8/4 through 8/6
- Arrive Masai Mara Safari destination the night of 8/7
- Safari days on the 8th & 9th
- Leave Masai Mara and arrive Nairobi on 8/10 for flight departure late on 8/10.
- Arrive Memphis on 8/11
