Men

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man  (Luke 2:52)

The United Methodist Men is the organization within the United Methodist Church which is solely devoted to the men of the church. We seek to deepen our relationship with God through fellowship, service, and study. Men of all ages are members of the United Methodist Men. All men in our congregation are strongly encouraged to participate by attending monthly meetings (second Saturday morning, September-May). Be a part of something great! Join other men as we dream and plan, working together on projects that support ministries such as Habitat for Humanity, First Works, SASHA, United Methodist Neighborhood Centers, Starfish Ministry, and others.

Men’s News

Sonrise Prayer Group. The Men’s Sonrise Prayer group would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to all men as we study the book of Job. The book of Job is a powerful story of deep faith in tragic times. In this study, David Hester focuses on the difficult questions raised in Job: Where is God in the worst moments of our emptiness? What are we to do when experience casts doubt on what we have always believed? Where in the world is justice? The study is held each Tuesday morning from 6:30-7:15 a.m. in room 339. Feel free to join us at any time during this study. For more information, contact Bryan Barger at 752-0522 or John Phillips at 756-5434.

The United Methodist Men  will meet at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11 at the Piccadilly Restaurant on Exeter Rd. in Germantown. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Carolyn Schriber, author and former Rhodes College professor, who will share with us her latest book “Beyond All Price.” This is a novel that tells the true story of a volunteer nurse serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. All men are invited and encouraged to attend. A breakfast buffet is available for $7.
