Sonrise Prayer Group. Men, if you have an interest in strengthening your connection with God, with others and with yourselves, then please accept our invitation to attend the men’s “Sonrise Prayer Group.” The Sonrise (yes that’s the way we spell it) Men’s Prayer Group meets every Tuesday Morning from 6:30-7:15 a.m. in room 339. If you have an interest in this study or if you would just like to check out the group, come on by. If you would like further information, please call Bryan Barger, 752-0522, Monty Williams, 682-2266, or John Phillips, 756-5434.
Beth Moore’s “A Heart Like His.” This 11-week in-depth study of King David will be held on Wednesdays, May 28-August 6, 9:30-11:30 a.m. We will focus on his years as God’s chosen king of Israel. The study demonstrates how God loved and was able to use David despite his disobedience, and it offers many lessons for those seeking to have a heart like God’s. The cost is $35. Childcare is provided. To sign-up contact Valerie Foster at 754-7216, ext. 135, or
vfoster@germantownumc.org .
A Dream: McVay Gardens Columbarium. Packets containing background information, cost comparisons, rules and regulations, and niche and memorial wall application forms are now available. To request a packet by mail, call Valerie Foster at 754-7216, or
vfoster@germantownumc.org . The initial enrollment period, which offers pre-subscription pricing and your choice of location (as available), will extend for one year. Early subscription is encouraged as robust early enrollment will assure the completion of the design and review process and allow a timely transition to construction. The number of enrollments during this timeframe will determine program scope, various construction elements, and a construction time frame. A niche or memorial wall application requires the corresponding application form(s) and a check or promissory note to cover the necessary fee(s). Checks and promissory notes will be accumulated within the columbarium fund; promissory notes must be payable on request. (If interested in an installment enrollment plan, please see David Jackson, Chairman, Don Rhoads, or Sharon Panis for details.) The application entitles the applicant to choose a niche or memorial wall location on a first-come, first served basis by using the MGC Master Location Chart located in the administrative office. Your location is entered on the application which is kept by you and the columbarium record as a permanent reservation of the desired space. A sell-back clause is available; however niches will not be re-purchased during the enrollment period in order to maintain a reasonable estimate of accumulating financial support. In the unlikely event that enrollments are insufficient to support the continuation of the columbarium project, all checks, promissory notes and installment premiums will be returned before irretrievable actions are taken.
For more information, call David Jackson, Chairman, at 755-7919, Don Rhoads at 754-7216, or any member of the Columbarium Committee.

Stephen Ministry. Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care, to listen, and to share God’s love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing.
• If life seems like more than you can handle alone right now
• If your health, your spirit, or your relationships are suffering
• If you are adjusting to a job transition, change in marital status, a serious illness, the death of a loved one, or a recent move
If you believe you could benefit from having someone in your life who will listen objectively and care deeply, we would be happy to talk with you about assigning a Stephen Minister to meet with you.
Older Adults
These events are for everyone—singles and couples. Our activities are open to anyone age 55 and older. You do not have to be a member of Germantown United Methodist Church to share in our fun and fellowship.
Our Handy Helpers are waiting for your call. Spring has sprung, and the Handy Helpers ministry team is waiting to hear from you. If you are a GUMC member over 60 years of age and have a hard time physically keeping up with minor home repairs or maintenance, Handy Helpers can do light carpentry,
plumbing, electrical repairs, and routine outdoor maintenance. Services are provided without labor charges, but the cost of the materials used is to be paid
by the person receiving the service. To put in a job request, contact Handy Helpers Coordinator, Charles Waters, at 758-2425.
