We are a warm, welcoming group of adults in our early 40’s to late 50’s. We are single’s and married couples focused on Christian Fellowship through the study of relationships, life experience, boundaries, and “starting over”. Short-term studies are selected by our class members and help us to be healthier and happier in our life relationships. (Room 335, HMC) (formerly the GIFT class)

Upcoming Series Feb 2009
The “Real Life 101” Sunday School class (formerly the GIFT class), will begin a 13-week study series entitled Boundaries, on March 1 at 9:30 a.m. in room 335. This lesson series is by noted authors Cloud and Townsend and is designed to help Christians prioritize and take control of their lives by properly setting personal boundaries and learning how to say “No.”

From exploring the Christian message in the music of U2 to studying the spiritual discipline of gratitude, the Preston class provides a forum for singles and couples in their 20s and 30s to discuss contemporary and faith-based issues in a relaxed, social environment. (Room 335, HMC)

Myra and Eb will travel to Houston this week for Myra's surgery (nodule on lung)
Louis Wells will have knee replacement surgery Wednesday followed by extensive PT in hospital and will welcome your visits once he is back home.

Lesson for February 21- Jim Pruett - Jesus Lived ane Spoke
Jim presented part two of an intriguing lesson on the four Gospels and introduced writings from the Gospel of Thomas.
Mark - Good News is the Message.
Matthew - Wrote for Jews; genealogy of Jesus; Jesus is the Messiah.
Luke - Wrote for all people - a Savior is born
John - Jesus is God; believe that and you will have eternal life.
Thomas - Manuscript discovered around 1945 and is not in our Bible. It inclcudes many quotes from Jesus similar to the parables, but with no explanation.

Discovery Weekend: February 23-25
We are in the process of coordinating our class' contribution for this youth weekend. We are tentatively sponsoring and serving Sunday lunch for this weekend. We will take monetary donations and have a sign up sheet for helping serve the meal in class this Sunday. I will forward more details after I hear back from Allison Bocking.

Future Class Mission project: CCA
Rob Downey made a presentation in class about the Christian Contractor's Assn.
We are looking in to supporting this group as a mission project.
