When: Tuesday, September 11, GUMW Luncheon
Where: Mike Wilson Fellowship Hall
ALL WOMEN ARE INVITED to attend our September Luncheon! Please join us for our cherished Blessing of the Babies as well as an inspiring message about La Limyè fulfilling the Great Commission by sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Meaning The Light in Haitian Creole, La Limyè is a children’s home and also provides water, food, clothing, classes, and education to the local village.
Ellen Humerickhouse felt the call of God at age 19, and she spent years in the mission field in the United States, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Mexico. However, a trip to Archahaie, Haiti changed her life, and in 2013 after much prayer and consideration, she bought land in the Haitian village of Guiton to build a children’s home. Ellen now has a thriving ministry, La Limyè, and is “Mommy Ellie” to eleven beautiful young ladies.
Ellen’s sister, Anna Nicol, serves La Limyè as the primary marketing and communications director. A University of Memphis graduate and former teacher, Anna helps run her family’s Collierville restaurant, The Silver Caboose, and serves GUMC as chairperson of the Children’s Consignment Sale and as a member of the Chancel Choir and Wesley 2.0 Sunday School Class. She and her husband, Ben, have two beautiful children, Will and Maggie.
