Assistant Conductor Kalena Bovell returns to the podium to lead the MSO. The light and vitality of Beethoven’s Second Symphony masked some of his darkest days as he came to grips with his impending hearing loss. Clarice Assad’s Impressions was written “to showcase the orchestra’s performers’ diversity and uniqueness”. Written as a showpiece for a virtuoso, MSO’s Scott Moore performs Hummel’s brilliant Trumpet Concerto.
